Kazakhstan is taking measures to increase investors' activity in the area of renewable energy, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy.

In this regard, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy has prepared a draft of a government decree on approval of the rules for determining fixed tariffs and limit auction prices.

The draft proposes a new definition of a ‘large hydroelectric power plant’ for a clear understanding when using this Regulation.

In addition, to contain a clear and not subject to the different interpretation of the term "Kaz PV", a new definition is proposed: "photovoltaic modules based on Kazakh silicon (Kaz PV) are photovoltaic modules manufactured at enterprises located in Kazakhstan using silicon produced in Kazakhstan".

The draft was submitted for public discussions.

Recently Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has also developed a law draft on the introduction of amendments to law 139 from Apr. 10, 2020.

The draft oversees a decrease of the burden to the business as some requirements are being excluded from the original law.
