A joint technical committee will be set up between Azerbaijan and Iran in connection with the Khudafarin and Giz Galasi hydro junctions, Iranian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi told Trend.
The deputy minister noted that the committee will discuss technical issues related to the joint use of both hydro junctions.
He added that the contract will be signed after clarifying a number of issues and details. After all, an event related to the joint use of these hydro junctions will be organized and the hydro junction will be launched.
Araghchi emphasized that there was a contract between Iran and Azerbaijan in connection with both hydro junctions.
“Iran has completed the construction of the Khudafarin hydro junction and the construction of Giz Galasi hydro junction is also being completed. It will be ready for launch in the next several months,” he said.
According to the deputy minister, Iran also has not been able to use from Khudafarin hydro junction due to the occupation of Azerbaijan territories.
Araghchi said as the territories of Azerbaijan have been liberated from occupation, there are full conditions for the joint use of these hydro junctions at present.
