BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 25. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 39.5 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2023), compared with the same month last year, Trend reports.
As reflected in the data of Statistical Center of Iran (SCI), this shows that families spent an average of 39.5 percent more on products and services in the 6th month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month previous year.
During the 6th month, the monthly inflation in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 37.8 percent, while in the non-food and services sector was 38.4 percent.
At the same time, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 6th month decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the 5th month (July 23 through August 22, 2023).
Within the 6th month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 39.6 percent. This is 0.2 percent less than the 5th month.
Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 38.8 percent for the 6th month. This is a decrease of 0.8 percent compared to the 5th month.
The annual inflation rate in the country (September 23, 2022 through September 22, 2023), was 46.1 percent. This is a decrease of 0.6 percent compared to the previous period (September 23, 2021 through September 22, 2022).
At the end of the 6th month, the annual inflation rate was 45.6 percent in Iranian cities, while – 48.9 percent in villages.
