Baku Telephone Communications LLC will launch its own wireless broadband Internet network using the long term evolution (LTE) technology in March, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies said in a message.

The ministry said that LTE network is currently covered the territory of two settlements on the outskirts of the capital – Baku.

The number of base stations will be increased in stages, and the outskirts of the capital, where it is difficult to provide optical lines, will be covered by the LTE network.

Along with the transmission services (at speeds up to 100 Mbps), other types of communication services are also envisaged to be provided on the basis of the LTE network.

Baku Telephone Communications LLC provides telephone communication, radio communication, broadband Internet services and other types of telecommunication services in Baku city to state bodies, enterprises and organizations, foreign legal entities and their representative offices, and population.
