The number of mobile subscribers of Turkmenistan’s Altyn Asyr mobile operator increased by 90,000 people in Turkmenistan's Lebap region from January through September of this year, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

Meanwhile, the number of users of the mobile operator is constantly growing due to the offer of new communication tariffs and Internet services.

The work is underway to increase the subscriber base in Turkmenistan’s Lebap region, the report says.

More than 215 kilometers of telephone lines are stretched in the region from January through September of this year. So, new communication systems were installed in new localities, and existing ones were updated in other localities.

Also, over the past period, the number of installed home phone points exceeded 1,500.

As reported, in 2013, the state-owned Altyn Asyr (TM Cell) mobile operator reorganized into a private enterprise by converting it into a Closed Joint-Stock Company.

Altyn Asyr planned to provide mobile communications to Turkmenistan everywhere, including 3G, 4G, and 5G in the near future.
