ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 16. Annual inflation in Kazakhstan increased to 8.6 percent in July 2024 (from 8.4 percent in June), while it climbed in 14 regions, slowed in 4, and was steady in 2 regions, Trend reports.
Meanwhile, the National Bank of Kazakhstan reports that monthly inflation in Kazakhstan for the reporting period was 0.7 percent.
It is worth mentioning that Astana city and Karaganda region are at the top of the charts when it comes to annual inflation rates.
Food prices rose to 5.5 percent year-on-year in July (from 5.4 percent in June). Almaty city saw the greatest increase in goods prices (8.1 percent), while the Turkestan region saw the smallest (3 percent).
The increase in prices for non-food products fell to 7.3 percent from 7.4 percent in June. The highest number was reported in Mangystau (13.6 percent), and the lowest in the Almaty region (5.1 percent).
Prices for paid services increased by 14.5 percent year-on-year in July (compared to 13.8 percent in June), with prices rising much higher in Pavlodar (18.8 percent) and significantly lower in Ulytau (10.2 percent).
