After April events in Kyrgyzstan expenses for State Defence Council (SGO) maintenance were unreasonably increased. They must be optimized, Akylbek Zhaparov, Chairman of parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance, reported to journalists, news agency "24.kg" reported.

According to him, at that time it was necessary to protect the country. But now the negative tendency is being kept: members of state security protect people who shall not be protected. "According to law, only president, Prime Minister, and Speaker of the Parliament shall have guards. But, now we see that even political leaders, heads of administrations, and other officials have bodyguards. It is time to get rid of the habit to have several guards," said Akylbek Zhaparov.

As the Head of the Committee said the State Security Service is part of Kyrgyzstan's State National Security Committee. "Reduction of SGO maintenance expenses shall be provided in the country's budget 2011," added Akylbek Zhaparov.
