Kyrgyzstan intends to cooperate with Russia in long-run perspective, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev said in his interview with "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

"We see the future in the long-term geopolitical alliance with Russia," Atambayev said.

However, he said, such an alliance is impossible without respect for the rights of the Russian-speaking minority in Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz Constitution reflects that the Russian language is used as an official language in the country, along with the state Kyrgyz language, Atambayev said.

He said the state guarantees the right to preserve native language for members of all ethnic groups, creates the conditions for its learning, and no one has the right to discriminate against any ethnos at state level.

"With regard to nationalist attacks that some marginal politics currently venture, they do not reflect the views of either the Kyrgyz leadership, or the majority of our people," Atambayev said.
