BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 10. Israeli Biopharmax Group Ltd will build a pharmaceutical factory (along with storage facilities for medicines) in Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev said, Trend reports citing economist.kg.
According to him, during the coronavirus pandemic, there was an acute shortage of medicines and medical devices in Kyrgyzstan, when all countries were quarantined and imports were almost stopped.
“The development of domestic pharmaceutical industry is a priority and highly relevant matter for Kyrgyzstan. It is believed that a developed pharmaceutical industry can be a strategic sector for the economy and social development of any country,” Amangeldiyev said.
Previously, an Israeli delegation headed by Biopharmax company's CEO Sarel Chen-Tov visited the office of Kyrgyzindustry in Bishkek in September. During the meeting, prospects for the establishment of joint Israeli-Kyrgyz pharmaceutical production in Kyrgyzstan were discussed.
