DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 24. Tajikistan plans to enhance its efforts in water and climate initiatives in collaboration with other countries, Trend reports.
President Emomali Rahmon made this statement during the UN General Assembly Summit of the Future. He cited the implementation of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" as a prime example of Tajikistan's commitment to these efforts.
Rahmon emphasized that the global community can only succeed through dialogue and constructive cooperation in addressing contemporary challenges.
He also called for strengthened collaboration among nations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, advocating for collective action to ensure comprehensive security and prevent terrorism, extremism, and other global threats.
Additionally, Rahmon proposed a UN resolution for a "Decade of Peace for Future Generations." He said that the Summit of the Future provided an excellent opportunity to discuss pressing issues, including climate change, poverty alleviation, public health, women's living conditions, inclusive education, and other global challenges.
