Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi says Iran seeks cooperation but should see signs of the other party's good intention, IRNA news agency reported.

Salehi, who is in Geneva to attent the 16th UN Human Rights Council session, made the remark in a meeting with the EU High Representative for the Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.

He said Iran's nuclear activities follow their legal and transparent course.

He added that like other countries, Iran adheres to its rights and commitments but the problem is that westerners want to read the other party's mind which is unacceptable.

He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always sought cooperation and engagement instead of confrontation and is ready for cooperation within framework of the internationally accepted laws and regulations. The requisite for the issue, he added, the other party should show signs of good intention.

Ashton for her part expressed pleasure with her meeting with Salehi. "We look for ways of engagement and cooperation and we should prepare grounds for this."

She stressed that measures should be taken to prepare the ground for narmalizing conditions.
