Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili have discussed the introduction of constitutional amendments adopted in 2010.
"The amendments must be used only after the presidential elections," he said. "Accordingly, the president's powers are greatly reduced. The Prime Minister's powers are increasing. The powers of the president, prime minister and parliament are balanced. Many problems that are still on the agenda are being resolved by using these amendments."
He added that the Georgian Dream offers Saakashvili the right to limit the president's individual formation of government.
"The willingness appeared to solve more complex, global problems during the discussions," he said. "We believe that this is an interesting idea. When we proposed it in November, the National Movement was not ready it. Today, they not only expressed their readiness, but voiced the initiative. We are working on it. Many factors make people act more and more efficiently."
