Inter Boss Jose Mourinho: I’ll Cheer On Juventus

A plucky Chievo side twice came from behind to hold Inter to a 2-2 draw at the Bentegodi this afternoon and the Nerazzurri could see their lead at the top of Serie A cut to just five points, if Milan beat Juventus tonight, Goal.com reported.

"I don't like this result, but we needed six points and now we only need five. I prefer it this way," Jose Mourinho told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

"Chievo played well and did what they had to do to get a point out of it," he added.

"However, we were leading and should have hung on to that. Poor defending cost us on both goals but, as I said, we need five points and we'll play two of our last three games at home."

Inter were missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, through suspension, but Mario Balotelli and Hernan Crespo were both on target.

"It's a difficult moment for Mario, as all our opponents play aggressively against him and referees do not protect him enough," said the ex-Chelsea boss.

"It's incredible that [Nicholas] Frey ended the match without a yellow card, after committing several fouls on him."

The Nerazzurri have won just once in their last five outings, but Mourinho blames it on the fact he does not have a full-strength squad at his disposal.

"We are never playing with the starting XI I would love to field," he lamented.

"We always have to deal with injuries and bans. Today, we were without 'Ibra' and Maicon, while [Sulley] Muntari and [Christian] Chivu had not trained all week and I did not want to risk them. We are struggling a little bit.

"Will I watch Milan - Juventus? I'm not a hypocrite, I would like Juve to win, because if our rivals drop points, it will make our task much easier."
