Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres confirmed their determination to further strengthen cooperation between Turkey and the United Nations, Turkish media reports Sept. 25.
The meeting between Guterres and Erdogan, who earlier left for the United States for the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, was held in New York.
Along with the situation around Syria, a number of global and regional issues were discussed during the meeting.
Turkish president also met with Iranian President Hassan Ruhani and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
