Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend K.Ramazanova / The first report on fulfillment of European Union (EU) obligations by Azerbaijan under the cooperation with EU, will be publicized in the first half-year of 2008, Peter Semneby, the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus, who is holding meeting with representatives of civil society of Azerbaijan, said in Baku on 18 October.
During the visit to Azerbaijan Semneby will meet with MPs, representatives from the law-enforcement bodies, political parties, civil society, as well as participate in a regional conference of OSCE and hold a meeting with the OSCE Secretary General Mark Peren Brishanbo, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
Last year the EU signed an Action Plan within the framework of European Neighborhood Policy program with Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia. The EU and Azerbaijan also signed a memorandum on mutual understanding,which contributes in the establishment of an energy partnership between the EU and Azerbaijan and is directed consolidation of energy security of Europe.
