Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 August /corr. Trend I.Alizade / Azerbaijani politicians consider that Armenia's providing humanitarian assistance to South Ossetia is connected with the support of separatism and dependence of official Yerevan on Russia. "Armenia does not have possibility to pursue independent policy," politician Rasim Musabeyov told Trend .
In order to re-establish its territorial integrity, on 8 August Georgia commenced military operations in South Ossetia. After this, Russia delivered blows to this country. As a result the attack of Russia, Georgia sustained large losses, some regions and cities of the country were destroyed, significant damages were inflicted to the infrastructure. With the mediation of the international organizations and leading countries worldwide, on 12 August a ceasefire agreement was signed between Russia and Georgia.
Already the majority of the countries worldwide made a decision to render humanitarian assistance to Georgia. Several hours ago, aircraft with humanitarian assistance of the USA arrived the airport of Tbilisi.
However, Armenia made a decision to render humanitarian
assistance to South Ossetia.
"Russia supports the separatists of South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Transnistria.
The separatists of Nagorno-Karabakh on the territory of Azerbaijan are governed
by Armenia. During the last events, which occurred in Georgia, Armenia was together with the separatists of South Ossetia," politician added. According to
Musabeyov, official Yerevan do not desire to openly spoil relations with Georgia, and therefore silently related to the events. However, their decision to provide
humanitarian assistance to South Ossetia proves the position of Armenia in this question.
Member of the Azerbaijan delegation to the
PACE, MP Aydin Mirzazade told Trend that the decision of Armenia to render aid to South Ossetia is connected with the policy, pursued by Russia. As a result the attacks of Russia, citizens of Georgia of Armenian origin
suffered. However, Armenia is not concerned by their fate. Because Yerevan can not act independently.
Mirzazade considers that with this Armenia shows that it continues supporting
separatism. "Armenia tries to gain independence of Nagorno-Karabakh and other
separatists created on the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Sending aid to South Ossetia proves this," he said.
