The Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava regretted that the opposition parties are going to use the 26 May - Independence Day of Georgia - in their own interests, and calls it "a shameful fact."

According to him, it is clear that the radical opposition day by day more and more trying to "hurt" the government "to bring an escalation of violence.

"It is unfortunate that these people represent themselves in the adoption of policies in such form as it was on 6 May. They are going to organize the same provocation May 26 as well," said the mayor, noting that the government will respond such actions with "calm and patience".

Ugulava stressed that the military parade and escalation is not an end in the government.

"Force will not be used. We will not deliver them this pleasure, but if the appropriate conditions do not exist, the military parade will not take place," said Ugulava.
