Georgia, Tbilisi, June 1 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /

Chairman of the Georgian Parliamentary Committee on European Integration David Darchiashvili does not have the official information on the abolition of the EU offices in the South Caucasus and Moldova.

Georgia has not received any notification from Brussels or the European Commission on the abolition of the representation, he told Trend. MP said that this information is spread only on the level of press publications.

"Perhaps, any change in status or personnel decisions are envisaged. With regard to considerations of experts that the abolition of offices associated with poor interest of the EU to these regions, is not true. On the contrary, the interests of the EU are increasing. The recent debates in the European Parliament and a resolution adopted in connection with the strategy of the South Caucasus indicate it", Darchiashvili said.

The information that the EU abolishes its offices in the South Caucasus and Moldova was spread yesterday with reference to statements of European Commissioner Catherine Ashton.
