Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Minister Kamaleddin Heydarov received NATO Special Representative for South Caucasus Robert Simmons, the ministry reported.
The sides discussed prospects for cooperation, joint exercises and other issues of mutual interest.
Expressing satisfaction with the level of cooperation with NATO and its agencies in civil emergency planning, Heydarov noted the potential for further development of ties.
Heydarov said enhancing cooperation with the Euro-Atlantic Coordination Center for responding to natural disasters and catastrophes is reasonable in this direction.
