Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairman Mazahir Panahov discussed prospects of cooperation with EU with EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Peter Semneby today, the CEC reported.
Semneby expressed his confidence in the continuation of effective cooperation and that the upcoming parliamentary elections will be successful.
Semneby expressed EU's willingness to promote democracy in Azerbaijan.
Panahov informed Semneby on preparations for the forthcoming parliamentary elections and said that the elections will be held in accordance with the electoral legislation and European standards.
