The security of the Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt was strengthened.
Currently, nothing poses a threat to the embassy of Azerbaijan. However, the diplomatic mission decided to strengthen its security amid the unrest occurring in Cairo from time to time, Azerbaijani ambassador to Egypt Shahin Abdullayev told Trend Dec. 8.
Meanwhile, the British embassy in Cairo temporarily stopped rendering various services for security reasons, the British Foreign Office said.
"The British embassy suspended its activity December 7," a statement says. "The office of the British Consulate in Alexandria works as usually."
The protests were held amid the acquittal of Egyptian ex-President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo last week.
