Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / A trial involving the Azerbaijani Minister of the Economic Developments, Heydar Babayev, who sued the editor-in-chief of the Azadlig newspaper, Ganimat Zahid, started in the Yasamal District Court of Baku.
The Minister accuses the editor-in-chief of offence and calumny and demanded Zahid to be responsible in a criminal order. The reason of the recall was an article published in the Azadlig newspaper. The article says Babayev paid for the wedding of OSCE Minsk Group's co-chairman, Mathew Bryza, in Turkey.
Four patrol cars pulled up at the court. Representatives of political parties, newspaper editors were also there. They are sure Zahid will be arrested today during the trial.
