Azerbaijani Citizens Detained in UAE for Trafficking to be Extradited to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / Azerbaijani citizens who were detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for trafficking will be extradited to Azerbaijan. Zavar Gafarov, the head of Administration of the International Legal Cooperation of the Azerbaijani Justice Ministry, said on 22 October that necessary documents and information for extradition of Azerbaijani citizens have been sent to the UAE's law-enforcement bodies.

People accused in swindling are also among the detained to be extradited. An agreement has been reached on the extradition and they will be delivered to Azerbaijan shortly.

According to Gafarov, an Azerbaijani citizen in search was arrested in Germany a while ago and a necessary appeal was made to Germany's necessary bodies for his extradition.

Vilayat Eyvazov, the Deputy Interior Minister, the national coordinator for human trafficking enforcement, said the Azerbaijani President will issue a decree on appointment to a representative of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs to the UAE to conduct work on fighting with trafficking.

According to Eyvazov, 17 people had been given to Azerbaijan through with Interpol during 2007.
