An office of the World Youth Bank will be opened in Baku, the Ministry of Youth and Sports told Trend.

The Baku regional office will be opened on September 2. The World Youth Bank Network (WYBN) operates with the support of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). About 14 countries, including Turkey, Iran and CIS countries will be represented in Baku's regional office.

This organization was founded by the UN Economic Commission, Global Compact and the World Bank in 2002. The main direction of the organization is to operate in accordance with the UN Millennium Development Goals, to create new jobs for youth and to implement other programs.

The regional office will be the sixth regional office in the network.

Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, head of the UN office in Azerbaijan Fikret Akcura, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov, representatives of foreign agencies, ambassadors, MPs and representatives of civil society will attend the opening ceremony.
