Baku is hosting the international conference entitled "The role of national judges in the application of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms within the country".
The chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev, chairman of the European Court of Human Rights Dean Spielmann, head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Department for Work with Law-Enforcement Agencies Fuad Alasgarov attended an opening ceremony.
The conference will last Oct. 24-25. The session on "Enforcement of judgments", "Dialogue between judges as part of the convention system" and other topics will be held.
The conference is held as part of Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the CE Committee of Ministers.
