On August 22, the representatives of the Azerbaijani organizations of Georgia signed a contract in Baku regarding creation of a confederative organization International Council of Georgian Azerbaijanis (ICGA), the head of the information and press department of ICGA Niyazi Huseynov told Trend.
The contract was signed by the chairman of Federation of Azerbaijani Journalists of Georgia Niyazi Huseynov, chairman of Azerbaijani-Georgian International Society Kur Suraddin Aliyev, chairman of the Charitable Society of Georgian Azerbaijanis Ihlas Rauf Heydarov, chairman of the Center for Study of Problems of Georgian Azerbaijanis Adalat Eyyubov, and chairman of Committee for Protection of Rights of Borchali Turks Khagani Emin. Besides, the document was joined by the chairman of Union of Georgian Azerbaijanis Caucasus Fazil Aliyev and president of National Assembly of Georgian Azerbaijanis. After the signing of the contract, Constituent Conference of ICGA was held, which confirmed the composition of the organization and formed the presidium.Fazil Aliyev was elected the chairman of the ICGA, Dashgin Gulmammadov chairman of presidium and Khagani Emin secretary general.
Headquarter of ICGA will be located in Baku. In the near future, ICGA will start the work on protection of rights of Georgian Azerbaijanis and coordination their social-political activities. In parallel, ICGA will establish its branches in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, France, Sweden, Ukraine, USA, Kazakhstan and other countries.
