BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. Bulk cargo transshipment through Baku International Sea Trade Port increased by 15.7 percent over the 1H2022, Trend reports via the port.

Thus, more than 576,000 tons of dry cargo were transported through Baku port over the reporting period of 2021, while 666,000 tons were transported over the first half of 2022

Due to the technical and modern logistic capabilities of the Baku port, the volume of attracted cargo is growing dynamically. In addition, the port has demonstrated an increase in the trans-shipment of other types of cargo.

In addition, In 2018, 28,436 tons were transported through Baku port in 2018, 133,953 tons - in 2019, 253,853 tons - in 2020.

As the port noted, bulk goods transported through Baku port consist mostly of mineral fertilizers, and transported from Central Asia to Georgia, Turkey and a number of European countries.

At the same time, a 2.5 million-ton fertilizer terminal is being constructed at Baku port, with the commencement of operation of which a significant increase in the trans-shipment of mineral fertilizers through Azerbaijan is expected.
