TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 23. Azerbaijan will build a five-star hotel in Uzbekistan, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdullayev told reporters in Tashkent, Trend reports.
"Azerbaijan has significantly enhanced its investment infrastructure over the past two decades, making the country increasingly attractive to foreign investors.
Uzbekistan has also paved the way for business development to flourish. During the visit, a round table was held with the presidents of both countries and leading entrepreneurs, where they discussed opportunities for mutual investment in various projects.
Notably, seven major projects were initiated, including the construction of a five-star hotel in central Tashkent and a residential complex. Azerbaijani companies will also be involved in implementing textile projects in Uzbekistan's regions, drawing on the country's extensive experience in this sector," he said.
According to Abdullayev, the construction of the five-star hotel is set to begin in September.
The Uzbek-Azerbaijani business forum took place in Tashkent on August 22.
During the forum, documents were exchanged on cooperation in various sectors, including energy, education, logistics, and construction. Additionally, agreements were made to strengthen ties between the countries and to establish twinning relations between the cities of Jizzakh (Uzbekistan) and Guba (Azerbaijan), as well as Shahrisabz (Uzbekistan) and Beylagan (Azerbaijan).
Moreover, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan plan to open trade houses and showrooms in Baku, Shusha, Tashkent, and Samarkand.
