Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / State Customs Service of Azerbaijan has submitted proposals to the government to reduce the number of privileges for customs bodies by AZN 1.1bln for 2008, Aydin Aliyev, the chairman of the Committee, said.
"now the issue concerning decrease of the number of privileges on value added tax (VAT) and on different oil products manufactured in Azerbaijan have been considered, Aliyev said."
The volume of exemptions in the import reaches 60% in Azerbaijan. The chairman of the Committee did not say the exact volume of exemption after reduction as importers may prefer goods the privileges of which still have been remaining.
The Committee offers to eliminate exemptions of VAT from commodities having these privileges. Import of commodities bringing by credits were also released from VAT.
It is necessary to decrease privileges on spare parts and agricultural equipments.
Very often commodities have privileges to import and have been imposed by VAT in turnover.
