Iranian Official: 1.6 million jobs be created

The Iranian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs said that more than 1.6 million new jobs have been created this solar year (Since March 21), IRNA reported.

"We try to increase new job places up to 1.8 million until the end of year," Abdolreza Sheikholeslami said. "Opening 2.4 million new jobs has been scheduled for next solar year."

Meanwhile, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated that unemployment ratio in his country is between 9 and 10 percent, ISNA reported.

According to official statistics, the unemployment ratio is 13.2 percent in Iran. The figure includes people working one hour per week, servicemen, housewives and students.

Ahmadinejad said 2.4 million jobs should be created to resolve unemployment problem in the country.

Earlier Seyed Mohammadali Mousavi, a member of the Iranian Parliamentary Commission for Social Affairs, told ILNA that the real rate of unemployment in Iran is twice higher than the official statistics.
