Iran’s aluminum ingot production ups 21 percent

Iran produced more than 200,000 tons of aluminum ingots in the first seven months of the current calendar year (began on March 21) or 21.3 percent more compared with the same period of the last year.

IRALCO was the major Iranian aluminum producer with 97,000 tons of output, the Mehr news agency reported.

Iran has increased trading aluminum products by 8 percent in the first two months of the current solar year (started on March 21, 2011), IRNA reported earlier, quoting Managing Director of Iranian aluminum Co (IRALCO) Masih Mashadi Tafreshi as saying.

"Iran sold a total of 29,843 tons of aluminum products from March 21 to May 21," he said.

The average products of these two months in IRALCO were 29,542 tons including pure, alloy, filing and EC.

Iran produced a total of 27,602 tons aluminum products in the first two months of last year. IRALCO produced 178,130 tons of aluminum products last solar year and this figure shows 7 percent growth over the previous year (ended March 20, 2010).
