The volume of railway transit transportations through the territory of Tajikistan amounted to 9.2 million tons in 2010, decreasing by 20.9 percent compared to 2010, Vladimir Sobkalov, Tajikistan Railways company's deputy head said at a news-conference on Wednesday, Asia-Plus reported.

One of the reason's for the transit transportation rating's decrease is the cut in Uzbekistan's commercial cargo transportations through the country by 2 million tons in 2011, Sobkalov said.

He added that this trend remains in force.

The export of goods from Tajikistan by railways amounted 735,000 tons in 2011 while the import was 4.3 million tons.
