By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:

Solar power plant with a capacity of 2 MW in Kapshagay (southern Kazakhstan) is fully ready to supply its generated electricity to the grid of the Almaty region, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Green Energy LLP Zhomart Mominbaev told Trend.

"The station has been built and is ready for use, ASMME (Automated system for monitoring and metering of energy) settings are now being finalized," said Mominbaev.

"Testing conducted on ASMME has finished a few days ago. Everything is working properly."

He said that the company has started to conclude agreements with the electricity distribution companies.

"As soon as the contracts are signed, the station will start delivering electricity to the grid," said Mominbaev. "That is, from our side everything is ready."

He recalled that Samruk-Energo completed the project of the first industrial solar power with a capacity of 2 MW in Kapshagay in 2013.

The main objectives of the plant's construction with a capacity of 2 MW are increasing the share of renewable energy sources and the reduction of the use of hydrocarbon energy resources for power generation.

Electricity production is implemented by 7,995 solar panels, 70 percent of which are installed on fixed and 30 percent on the sun-tracking constructions. In order to convert the direct current produced by solar panels into an alternating current, the plant uses 178 inverters. The planned annual production of electricity is 3.600.000 kWh.

In 2014, the plant was assigned to the authorized capital of Samruk-Green Energy LLP for future operation and maintenance.

Samruk-Green Energy LLP was created in 2012. The company operates in the field of energy production using renewable energy sources.

More than 20 projects at various stages related to the development of wind and solar energy, as well as the development of small hydro power plants, biogas energy and energy efficiency are in the portfolio of Samruk-Green Energy LLP.
