Prospects of cooperation and concrete steps in this regard are planned to be considered during the 7th session of the Azerbaijan-Poland Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation that is to be held in October-November 2016, diplomatic sources told Trend July 28.

Azerbaijan’s delegation will visit Poland in the first half of September to determine prospective directions of cooperation, and the visit of Poland’s business delegation, led by the country’s Undersecretary of State in the Polish Economic Development Ministry Radoslaw Domagalski-Labedzki, is expected in late September 2016 to Azerbaijan.

Concrete steps on various directions of cooperation, in particular, in the spheres of trade, transportation, energy and others will be defined within the visit.

The Polish government considers opportunities to invest in Azerbaijan. The government said earlier that agrarian sector, food production are among the prospective spheres.

The Polish side also considers the participation in projects, related to Azerbaijan’s transportation infrastructure, as a prospective sphere for the two countries’ cooperation.

Trade turnover between Poland and Azerbaijan totaled 34.15 million manats in January-June 2016 that is by 17.3 percent more than in the same period of 2015, according to Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee.
