An aluminum wheel plant in Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar special economic zone (SEZ) plans to produce up to one million aluminum wheels per year, said the head of KK Pavlodar LLP, Murat Beisekenov during a meeting with the members of the Kazakh parliament.

"We have special equipment which can produce up to 480,000 aluminum wheels per year. The manufactured goods will be exported to Russia’s Krasnoyarsk city for grinding and painting. We need 54,000 tons of aluminum per year to reach the full capacity," Beisekenov said.

The members of the parliament, in turn, stressed the importance of the plant for development of the country's economy.

"Production of aluminum wheels is a unique project for export. Local businessmen and the German companies working here have jointly launched the production, to not only meet domestic demand, but also to increase the export of local products. Attraction of investments is one of the most important tasks set by the president. Pavlodar is currently one of the leaders in this work," MP Meiram Pshembaev said.

The investments in the project amount to 6.7 billion tenge. The plant is expected to work at full capacity in 2020.
