Baku, Azerbaijan, May 16

By Azad Hasanli – Trend:

Azerbaijan's Chamber of Commerce in Australia is working to open a direct air service between Baku and Perth (Western Australia), the founder and director of Azerbaijan's Chamber of Commerce in Australia, Nizami Jafarov, told Trend on May 16.

He said that work is underway in this direction, but the opening of the flights should not be expected in the near future.

"Today, one can get from Australia to Azerbaijan, for example, via Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Qatar. The opening of a direct air link would help spur the development of tourist relations between the two countries," Jafarov said.

He said that presently, the Commerce Chamber already takes certain measures for the development of mutual tourist trips.

In particular, he said, special tourist programs are available for Azerbaijani citizens in Australia.
