Pavlodar region is one of the first Kazakh regions to finish seasonal crops harvesting, Trend reports with reference to the press office of the regional akimat (administrative center).
As reported, the productivity of cereals and legumes amounted to 10.5 centners per hectare. The harvested area has been increased by 87,000 hectares in 2019, and 790,000 tons of cereals have been harvested in the region.
According to Head of the Agriculture Department of Pavlodar Region Nurlan Sadybekov, total harvested area in Pavlodar region amounted to 1.1 million hectares, which is 8.6 percent more than last year.
“This year, over 530,000 hectares of land were allocated for wheat crops. With the average productivity of 10.5 centners per hectare, gross harvesting of wheat amounted to 538,000 tons compared to 511,500 tons last year (11.2 centners per hectare),” he said.
Furthermore, according to the specialists, Pavlodar farmers used modern resource-efficient technologies when cultivating and growing crops, which in turn lead to the good productivity indicator.
Sadybekov added that harvesting of potato from territory of 17,900 hectares has also been finished in Pavlodar region. The gross yield amounted to about 550,000 tons with an average yield of 320 centners per hectare.
“Vegetables have been harvested from the territory of 5,900 hectares. The gross harvest of vegetables amounted to almost 200,000 tons. The haymaking has also been finished. Average productivity amounted to nine centners per hectare, and 60,500 tons of silage have been prepared. This allowed agriculture manufacturers to prepare one and a half year supply of hay,” he concluded.
