Georgia is one of the top 20 wine exporters in the world, Trend reports via the statistics published by the American Wine Association (AAWE).
As reported, Georgia ranked 16th among wine exporting countries in 2019 with wine exports totalling $222 million.
Georgia leads by the share of wine exports and accounts for 5.9 percent in total exports that is the highest rate among wine exporters and is ahead of countries such as France, Italy, Spain.
According to AAWE, France exported the largest volume of wine in 2019 worth $10 billion, followed by Italy with $7.2 billion, Spain with $3 billion and Australia with $2.053 billion.
The top countries also include the US, Germany, New Zealand, Portugal, Great Britain, South Africa, Argentina, Singapore, China, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Austria and Belgium.
