Georgia sees increase in export of flours, meals, pellets to Turkey

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 21

Georgia exported 6,977 tons of flours, meals, and pellets, totaling $9.08 million to Turkey from January through September 2020, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annual basis, Georgia increased the products' export to Turkey by 3,734 tons.

Over the same period last year, 3,243 tons of flours, meals, and pellets were exported by Georgia to Turkey for a total amount of $4.5 million.

Turkey ranked first in Georgia’s commodity circulation in the reporting period.

From January through September 2020, total imports from Turkey to Georgia amounted to $981.5 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $142.8 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey in the reporting period exceeded $1.1 billion, which is 13.8 percent of Georgia's total trade turnover.
