BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 29

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

In 2021-2025, Georgia's economic growth rate will be 5.5 percent annually, said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava, Trend reports via Georgian media.

She made the remark after the government session.

"This economic growth rate shows that Georgia is overcoming the difficulties caused by the pandemic and we will reaffirm our status as a regional leader. The first signs of this are already observed this month, which was reflected in the positive rate of exports," said Turnava.

According to her, the government is leading the fight against COVID-19 in the right direction. This allowed the country to quickly resume activities in many areas.

"In the conditions of the pandemic, Georgia was able to compete with other countries in terms of exports. We were able to export large quantities of agricultural products. At the same time, it is noteworthy that we have entered new markets, thus surpassing many competing countries. This applies to the agricultural sector as well as the textile," Turnava said.
