UAE, Afghanistan buy aviation kerosene on Turkmenistan's exchange

Entrepreneurs from the UK, the UAE, Turkey, Switzerland, Malta, Afghanistan, and others purchased aviation kerosene, gasoline, hydrotreated diesel fuel, heating oil, oil bitumen produced at Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries in foreign currency on the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan during the last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

In addition, entrepreneurs from the UAE, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan purchased ESO 93 gasoline in foreign currency and urea from Kazakhstan. Also, entrepreneurs from the UAE, Turkey, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan bought a colorless flat glass, cotton yarn, dry licorice root extract in foreign currency on Turkmen exchange.

The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $116 million.

Transactions in Turkmen manat were also made on Turkmenistan's exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs from the UAE, Scotland, and Kazakhstan purchased cotton yarn for a total amount of more than 15 million Turkmen manat ($4.3 million).

On the domestic market, Turkmen businessmen purchased high-density polyethylene and polypropylene, as well as hand-made carpets for a total of about 320 million manat ($91.5 million).

In general, 158 transactions were registered on the exchange last week.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
