Uzbekistan and Turkey will work to increase mutual trade to $10 billion, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.
The mentioned issue was discussed during the 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
It is noted that Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Vice President of Turkey Fuat Oktay during negotiations agreed to take the necessary measures to increase trade between the countries to $5 billion.
Umurzakov stressed that Uzbekistan and Turkey plan to bring mutual trade to $4 billion by the end of 2021 and $5 billion by the end of 2023.
In turn, Vice President Fuat Oktay confirmed the intentions of the parties and added that after reaching the goal of $5 billion, the parties will work to increase trade to $10 billion.
Also, speaking at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission Uzbekistan and Turkey First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov stated that by the end of July Uzbekistan and Turkey will complete the process of preparing an agreement on preferential trade.
