The extraction from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the Zanjan Province (north-western Iran) increased by about 13 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from June 22 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
According to the report, 488,817 tons of minerals were extracted from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the 5 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, this figure stood at 432,468 tons.
“About 365,272 tons of minerals were sent to local companies from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex over the five months. This is a 24-percent decrease compared to the same period last Iranian year (480,391 tons),” the report said.
In addition, 11,200 tons of iron ore and 7,000 tons of travertine were extracted from the mines operating under this mining complex. Sales of these minerals amounted to 78,800 tons and 2,880 tons, respectively.
