Business Materials 17 May 2006 18:35 (UTC +04:00)

By the end of 2006 Baku International Marine Port is ending the first stage of ferry terminal reconstruction, reportedly said Vahid Aliyev, Assistant to Director General. At the moment Azerkerpu is about to complete the first stage of port infrastructure reconstruction. The company is repairing the bridge for carriages to handle ferries. Baku port allotted $3.21mln for this purpose from its internal funds.

Upon completion of the first stage, second stage begins, including construction of second bridge for carriages handling.

Ferry terminal reconstruction comes necessary in a view of rise of cargos transportation along TRACECA route and excessive age of terminal operated over 40 years.

Further, it is suggested to restore coastal structures of the terminal, which requires some $2mln.
