Japanese Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC) offered the Azerbaijani Government to improve the railway infrastructure of the country and to construct a speed rail link Baku-Boyuk Kesik-Tbilisi. Presently, talks are being held on the preparation of the feasibility study of the project, Head of the Transport Policy and Economy Department of the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry, Sadraddin Mammadov, informed Trend.
The Japanese side is ready to allocate a grant totaling $200,000 for these purposes. JBIC will send its experts to Azerbaijan in December to inspect the rail link in this direction and to prepare the feasibility study.
