Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 March / corr. Trend S. Aliyeva/ A new module electric power station with a multimode power of 300MWt will be launched in Sanghachal by the end of the year, Marlen Asgarov, the vice-president of Azerenerji JSC said on 12 March.
Earlier, the company has planned to launch the first two power units, out of 12 produced by Finnish Wartsilla, in the first quarter of 2008. As winter has already ended, therefore, all the power units are expected to be launched simultaneously, Asgarov said.
The company Wartsilla proposed a new technology to switch the electric power station in Sanghachal from gas to the black oil and vice-versa, which will speed up the process.
The construction of a new energy generating projects in Sanghachal is critical, to supply Absheron peninsula with the uninterrupted electricity.
