President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych will make an official visit to Turkmenistan on Sept. 12-13, the President's press service reported. However, the program of the visit and agenda of upcoming negotiations are not reported.

Last week, the head of the Presidential Administration Sergei Lyovochkin said that Yanukovych will discuss in Turkmenistan all aspects of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector. As expected, the main one of them is the possibility to supply Turkmen gas to Kiev, which Ukraine imported by 2006. The sides are continuing dialogue on this topic. In particular, in August, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov discussed this issue during his visit to Kiev. Prime Minister of Ukraine Nikolai Azarov said at a meeting that is discussing with Russia the possibility of resumption of deliveries of Turkmen gas.

And Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko said on last Wednesday that Ukraine is ready to consider the possibility of gas cooperation with Turkmenistan. "We constantly negotiate with our Turkmen colleagues. Given the attempts of Turkmenistan to to diversify flows, we are ready to address this issue, it is very important for us," said Boyko.
