Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.2 / Trend F.Mehdi/

Malaysian state-owned oil and gas firm Petronas has hired Indian brokers to persuade veteran Iranian oil experts to be employed by the Malaysian company, the Pana News Agency reported.

The brokers contact Iranian experts and propose impressive hefty payments of multi thousand dollars as well as bonuses and welfare facilities to them.

Attracting Iranian oil and gas experts has taken a new shape in recent years.

In March last year, media reported that Qatar Petroleum had embarked on attracting Iranian oil experts working in the South Pars gas field. Later on, the Qatari company held a meeting with those experts who had been selected from previous correspondences in Dubai and Turkey. That was an alarming bell for the Iranian oil industry officials.

According to an Iranian oil expert, similar contacts have been made by Petronas with several officials with over 20 years of experience and also with managers of some private oil companies, but no response has been sent to the Malaysian company to date.
