An oil terminal built in northern region of Turkmenistan

The complex of facilities for storage and shipment of petroleum products has been built in the northern region of Turkmenistan-Dashoguz region, the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper wrote Aug. 20.

The enterprise is owned by "Türkmennebitönümleri" (Turkmenoilproducts) General Department. The total area of the complex, situated on the territory of Saparmurad Niyazov district, is 10 hectares.

Annually, 180,000 tons of oil products and 1,500 tons of lubricating oils will be received here and sent to fuel stations.

The complex includes dozens of facilities. Among them, there are tanks for storage of oil products, specialized laboratory for the analysis of their quality, two-storey office building. It has been envisaged that the delivery of oil products will be carried out by the railway tracks laid here.

Two oil refineries in the cities of Seidi and Turkmenbashi are functioning in Turkmenistan, the latter is situated near the coast of the Caspian sea and is the largest enterprise in the country. The work on modernization is regularly carried out here since the 1990-ies, with the participation of large firms and companies from Germany, Iran, Israel, the USA, Turkey, France, Japan.
