A pipeline has been laid to transport gas to the power station on the island of Kharg in Bushehr Province in southern Iran, said Abbas Asadruz, Executive Director of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
According to Asadruz, this project is one of the most important projects of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company related to the gas supply to the Kharg power plant.
Asadruz added that 17 billion rials ($404,000) were spent for the construction of the 4-km pipeline.
The company official said that this project has allowed to save about 10 billion rials ($238,000) per month on diesel fuel consumption.
Within the project, modern equipment has been installed and environmental issues have been taken into account, he added.
Kharg Island is one of the major oil fields in the Bushehr Province of Iran. The Iranian Oil Terminals Company, the Offshore Oil Company and the Kharg Petrochemical Company are operating on this island.
